A shelf, not a store

404Friends is a software studio in Tbilisi. Client work pays for the lights; the tools we end up writing along the way get published here instead of rotting in a private repo. The shelf is open to work that is not ours, too.

How something gets listed

// Four gates. A project clears all four or it stays off the site.

01

It has to be readable

A public repository, a README that explains the thing, and a build you can reproduce locally. If a listing cannot point at source, it does not belong on this domain.

02

It has to be released

Tagged version, published artifacts, a changelog. Download links here resolve to the project's newest release at click time - we do not re-host binaries, so what you get is what the pipeline signed.

03

It has to name people

Every entry lists contributors and what each of them owns. That is the whole point of the site: making it obvious who made what, and being able to ask them about it.

04

It has to still be alive

Projects nobody has touched in a long time get marked, not silently deleted. We would rather be honest about what is maintained.

Getting your project on the shelf

  1. 1.Send the project through the submission form with a link to the repository.
  2. 2.We read the source and try the build on at least one platform.
  3. 3.We write the listing - what it does, why it is worth installing, who worked on it - and send it back to you for corrections.
  4. 4.It goes live. You keep full ownership; the listing points at your repo and your releases.

Talk to a human

Bug reports and feature requests belong in the project's own issue tracker - that is where the people who can fix them are. For a listing correction, a takedown, or hiring the studio, use the form or write to us directly.

Built somethingworth sharing?

// Send us a public repository and we will review it, write it up properly and list it here - with your name on it. Corrections to an existing listing go through the same form.
